The seven-minute anthem is the closing track on the record-breaking album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. Though only released as a single in Australia, France and the United States, a music video was released to the music channels and, as a result, the song received much television and radio airplay. The song achieved US success, becoming the band's second #1 single on the Modern Rock Tracks chart.The song is a fan favourite, and has received widespread critical acclaim. This is despite the fact that Noel claimed in a 2005 interview that he has still not made up his mind as to what the song actually is about, though he thinks it might be about reincarnation.[citation needed] It received minor controversy due to the repeated line in the song, "Where were you while we were getting high?".[citation needed]In the music video, Liam has a resemblance to John Lennon, wearing rose-colored glasses and a beard.In a radio interview for BBC, Noel joked that rhythm guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs began crying during the recording of the song because the song was so beautiful. This story was backed up by Ian Robertson who claimed, in his book Oasis: What's The Story?, the first time Noel played the song to the rest of the band -- an acoustic version on the tour bus -- Bonehead did indeed cry.Paul Weller, former frontman of The Jam and friend of Oasis, provided the lead guitar and some of the backing vocals on the track.The song is included on Oasis' compilation album Stop the Clocks.In May 2007, NME magazine placed "Champagne Supernova" at number 39 in its list of the 50 Greatest Indie Anthems Ever.Alternative versionsAn official remix of the song was produced by Brendan Lynch, and was issued on the b-side on a promo-only 12" of Oasis's cover of "Cum On Feel the Noize". Evelyn "Champagne" King born June 29, 1960, in the Bronx, New York and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was originally discovered while working as a cleaning woman in a recording studio. She went on to become one of the most popular R&B and disco singers of the late seventies and early eighties, recording classics such as "Shame" and the groundbreakers "I'm In Love" and "Love Come Down."Of King's many R&B and pop hits, she is best known for the disco classic "Shame", which is her only Top 10 on the Billboard Magazine Hot 100 (#9 in 1978) (it also hit #8 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart). The record eventually became Gold that same year, and she followed the single with another classic, 1979's "I Don't Know If It's Right" (which also went gold). Both "Shame" and "I Don't Know If It's Right" elevated her 1977 debut album Smooth Talk to classic status and success. King was just 16 years old when Smooth Talk was released.Music Box (#30 on the Billboard 200), released in 1979 and Call On Me (#12 on the Billboard 200), released in 1980 were a pair of follow-up disco-R&B albums to Smooth Talk, that featured danceable tracks and soul ballads. However, her follow-up albums did not mask the same amount of success as her debut album, simply due to popular music's sudden transition from the disco craze of the late-1970s to the 1980s-dance music scene.King hit #1 on the dance chart in 1981 with "I'm In Love" and then topped that chart again in 1982 with "Love Come Down". "I'm In Love" and "Love Come Down" were also her first pair of #1 Billboard R&B Hits.
A Dutch business man broke the World and the Guinness book records in building the biggest champagne glass tower. Gert-Jan Stock decided to attack the records, using about 35.990 champagne glasses. The old Guinness book record from 1999 was 30.865 glasses.The building project started from Gert-Jan Stok's wish to improve financial situation of EMMA Hospital, which specialises in treating children with serious diseases such as cancer.
