Chianti Classico Gallo Nero. It lies on a hill, facing south at an average height of 540m above sea level. The vineyards extend over an area of about 4 hectares (10 acres), oriented south-southwest. The soil is primarily composed of weathered sandstone and is ideal for high quality viticulture. The grape varieties present in the vineyards are Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Merlot. Podere Ciona produces a Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva and an I.G.T or "Supertuscan"
