It's that time of year when Penfolds release their Bin series and so it's also time for us to look at one worth buying. We also take a look at a Riesling from a producer with a long history with the grape and another great red blend.
This week we look at three wines that are definitely bargains in anyone's book. No surprises that our first wine is a riesling, but this one is in spare change territory. The next is a Coonawarra cabernet with 5 years bottle age yet is under $20. The last is a Heathcote shiraz that is a true bargain from a region where good cheap wine is hard to find.
This week we suggest an expensive wine as we check out one of the eargerly anticipated Penfolds super premium releases. As well we look at a Rosé especially for those in areas where the weather is warming up, and we also recommend a riesling from WA.
Weddings are the perfect time to open a few bottles of great wine, and when it's Brad's wedding then there's even more reason to get into some great wine! This week we look at a sparkling that many regard as Australia's finest, and is a regular at our celebrations. There's also a Margaret River riesling which will be served to the guests at the event this weekend. And we also look at a Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon which has really hit the mark with the 05 vintage. Cheers and congratulations to Brad & Tranda.
This week we look at a great Eden Valley riesling and a big, bold Barossa shiraz that has a special connection to one of the wine week guys. Plus in something of a departure we recommend the one book you *must* get this year if you really love Australian wine.
With Aussie Cadel Evans a big chance to take out the Tour de France this weekend we thought what better way to celebrate than with a bottle of Côtes du Rhône that won't break the bank and will be easy to get your hands on in time for the final stage on the Champs Élysées. We also look at a Eden Valley riesling and another 2006 cabernet sauvignon from Coonawarra.
Ever wanted to get in on a one of those cool, limited release wines that everyone raves about before they become too expensive? This week we look at a big, bold shiraz from a small producer that seems set for huge wraps from those wine buffs that drive prices up to sky high territory. As well we look at an affordable shiraz that is as dependable as ever. And just for a change we look at a great young riesling which comes from Western Australia.
