A Geek's Guide to Wright's Robie House continues with tour guide Barry Aldridge of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. The billiards room was an early instance of a familly room, and the wine cellar now houses mechanicals.
Piemont is one of the great winegrowing regions in Italy, located in the Northern part of Italy, bordering France and Switzerland. The region produces wines of renowned depth such as the famed Barbera, Barolo, Barbaresco and Moscato. This was reason enough for six of us to hire a car and to do a weekend trip from Lucerne, Switzerland, down to our Southern neighbour.During these three days, we visited three local winemakers. Before wine tasting (the psychedelic part) the winemakers always showed us their wine cellar where the fermentation of their wine takes place, and they gave us some intersting facts about their production. Well, knowledge transfer was not really huge, since all six of us don't really speak Italian, but as the Italian are quite good in using hand gestures, we sometimes got an idea of what they were talking of...This video sequence shows the visiting of Mr Ferrio's wine cellar in Canale, Piedmont, Italy (Azienda Agricola Cascina Cà Rossa, http://www.langhe.net/cascinacarossa/ ). That's what we were calling the "Cultural part" of the wine tasting...
This is my fourth short film that I wrote and directed. A short horror film with the story linking to the film 28 Days Later about 4 friends doing all they can to survive from the infected people of the rage virus that wiped out the United Kingdom. It begins with the friends running for their lives from one of the infected as they eventually find an abandoned house and end up hiding there. A few hours pass, it seems as though they are safe but unfortunately for them, the infected man who chased them found a way into the wine cellar of the abandoned house. As one of the friends goes down into the wine cellar to collect some wine, all hell breaks loose!!! Will they all survive?Apart from the many bad cuts, continuity errors and poor acting at times, this was a very exciting script to write and of course it was fun to film. Interesting story and more amusing than scary, or at least I think so anyway lol.Look out for more short films from Seal Services in the future :)Cast:Daniel Seal as EricBrian Seal as BarryMichael Plevin as NickAndrew Feighan as SimonDavid Suckley as The Infected Man*Copyright 2008*

It is our great pleasure to present you our family wine cellar "Andrija".Where the Neretva river leaves historical Mostar city and slowly flows its way through Hercegovina, the highland of Brotnjo, renown after its wines, is rising up. Our wine cellar is situated at the very heart of this hilly region. In the surroundings of the wine cellar are remains of the houses of our grandparents, once a part of the old town of Paoča, mentioned in the archived documents of the Republic of Dubrovnik as early as in year 1432.In our family cellar we aim to apply modern technologies while preserving traditional practices and an intimate family atmosphere. Those who would like to learn about our family attachment to the vines can visit the old vine cellar, found inside the original building over three hundred years old.Modern equipment and ultimate wine producing technology have found their room in our new premises built in 1995.In our vineyards we grow the autochthonous grape varietes, mostly "zilavka bijela" and "blatina crna", by following old traditions. The two varietes have been growing in this part of Hercegovina for over two thousand years, a sign of their quality and a value. Indeed, our wines have received numerous awards and acknowledgements.Heartly welcome to our wine cellar "Andrija"!
If you're ready to tour California's Napa Valley wineries, you'll need a great place to stay. Among the best Napa Valley hotels I've found are Villagio Inn and Spa, and the Vintage Inn, two Yountville hotels that boast their own shopping center (Vintage Estate), luxury spa (Spa Villagio) and gourmet wine country breakfast buffets and afternoon tea. The hotels are at a great central location from most Napa restaurants including Bouchon and French Laundry (run by Thomas Keller) to Bistro Jeanty, Hurley's and Etoile, the restaurant at champagne house Domaine Chandon. The Napa Valley Wine Train runs right past both hotels, and a Napa wine tour limo will pick you up at the door for a day of Napa wine tasting.Your concierge at both hotels can provide a Napa Valley wineries map for your convenience. If you prefer, you can shop for wine gifts at V Wine Cellar, located at Vintage Estate. V Wine Cellar, just steps from both hotels, also offers wine tasting.Next time you are planning a Napa Valley vacation, take a peek at these amazing Napa Valley resorts. They just may become an annual tradition.
